Its not that bad. Its just that there are more reasons for some people to use to say its not going to work. But lets face it. Relationships arent perfect and two people that truly love each other are willing to accept the imperfections no matter what race or creed. An interracial couple needs to just a little better than most to overcome any hurdles in the road. They need to be closer/more loving and serious/More trusting than most. There will be people who are jealous or less tolerant of an interracial relationship and will try to find chinks in your armor to break you all apart. This happens from both sides. After all people are people and we all have idiots to contend with no matter what race.

And I agree with Amunoz.. Dont worry and do for yourself and the one you love.

I think the best advice is to forget about "handling" the relationship and just try to be there in the relationship.
Of course there is a chance you'll run into jerks on both sides of the color spectrum but in any relationship there are things that might cause contention, like being of different religions, different political ideals, and different soical status.
If you are really focused on each other it is much easier to just ignore the rest. If the idiots are friends or family you have to decide who is more important, them or the lady. If your half a man and serious you'll tell them they have a choice, accept you and your lady or get out of your life.

u only live once...do what makes u happy. I m in a relationship with a black man n I would not change it for the world. the thing is if u love her u don't see color...u just see her soul! hope u to have a wonderful life together!

If you love this person and want to be with her then that is what you need to do. Be happy.

Do not worry what society will think, you should have thought about that before asking her to be your girlfriend. And today society is more open to interracial couples.

The only society I really hang out with is our church which is mostly Indian/Pakistani, they have received me with love and kindness. Within the community of high school and the town, some are not real friendly, and have notice some racism toward us because of my wife's color. We pray for those, but the overall experience is good, and our children aren't suffering because of being from a mixed family.

My husband is black, and we get actually more dirty looks from black women than white people...but overall everyone is very accepting of us, our two small children look like tiny fashion models they are so gorgeous, and people come up to us literally everytime we go out to tell us what beautiful children we have.

I've learned more about racism since we married though...like how my husband has been pulled over for DWB (driving while black)...and that if he is confronted by a cop or someone that's on the edge he has to play very cool and gentle, because some people are really threatened by a muscular 6 foot 5, 270 pound black man, even if he does have a kind face.

If you come to truly love this person, it will not matter, and interracial couples are becoming much more common. My biracial kids are not that unusual any more, we see biracial kids everywhere we go. Trust me...marriage and relationships are very rewarding but also a lot of hard work, and skin color will be the least of your worries:)

dont think aboutwhat society will think because honestly its none of their business. if your happy with your girl and shes happy with you then let the haters talk because obviously they have problems with them ownselves that cause them to look at you as a target to their iggnorrance. walk with your head held up and ur girl by ur side. things will be ok...it's your life.
