I spend more time on the internet on any given day than I do sleeping. I try to cut down, but almost as if it's compulsion, I'm usually on within 20 minutes. What usually works for you when you are like this?

I'm the same now as it's the first thing I do in the morning. Even the kettle takes second place sometimes. We'll have to both work on this and see if we can make sum suggestions.

I am a little better only because of external restraints... so maybe just set time tables. Goals for time OFF the computer. Substitute reading for computer time. Make time for real time friends and join a support group!

Thankfully I'm out for a couple of evenings a week but I'll take your advice (or try to) and get into a good book.

Its sooo easy for it to control you. I have a lap top that i use, so sometimes i will let the battery die and the time it takes to get it charged enough to come on, i find something else to do. I know this sounds silly, but hiding it or covering it up where its not in plain sight tends to help as well...for someone with a desktop...that might be a lil harder, unless you just chunked it all in the closet...the time taking to wire it all back up might make you change your mind.
