dating sites. yahoo for email and news. craigslist and ebay for stuff. playlist, myspace, and youtube for music. job searching. video jug for cooking.
i mainly use the internet to stop feeling so lonely.
if im not scared of the locals, then im to ashamed of myself to do anything with them. i dont drink or dance either.

I come online to be here, buy things on eBay / TradeMe, etc, check my e-mail, download music, etc from iTunes, Google articles, read the news, watch JCTV, etc.
Why I do it? Well, for the same reasons you do, to distract myself from my depression and like NUMBER4940, the net is my hang out spot since I am pretty anti-social these days. And in a sub-conscious way, I feel I am reaching out, trying to find that connection with someone.

I agree, youtube is an easy one to get lost in. I go to myspace and hotmail the most then yahoo & msn ..facebook, craigslist, ebay. and then i like to google any random thing i can think of and read up on it including people and things.. i love to chat online but a lot of my friends have stopped doing that these days but i do a lot of looking up people an things..
its obsession and an inability to depart from the internet lol it seems like there is always something i can be doing online

mostly email and i am on a lot of email lists. then facebook. some spiritual sites. this one now is in the rotation. then when people post links to other sites i follow them. i look up recipes. i look up words or things i read about that i do not know about. when my kids have questions i don't know the answer to i look them up. but mostly i write a blog or post or email and then i just keep checking for the replies so it is like looking for validation and connection right?

I come here to DS, check yahoo e-mail's and go to both myspace and facebook I can spend hours and hours there because of an app game and sometimes do random Google searches and because being bored a lot and other things too. I also don't get out much kind of shy and I don't have much friends so I try making online friends.

DS, youtube, Yahoo chat, Yahoo messenger, yahoo mail, facebook, news, foodnetwork.com, google, music, diy stuff...
I have a severe case of social anxiety, have for years.. plus I'm a stay-at-home mom with limited excursions just because money is so tight... the internet is my way to the outside world.

I have a whole host of humor sites that I visit on a regular basis (my favorite being cracked.com), youtube has consumed innumerable hours of my time. I sometimes surf wikipedia or *ahem* encyclopedia dramatica. Whether I am still depressed or not is unknown (being so packed with antidepressants as I am), but despite my happiness, if superficial happiness, I still have nowhere else to go. Like a lot of other people here, the internet is my place.

Here, shelfari, facebook, mylot, checking emails, is the main reason I use the internet. I do exercise regularly when I can. This is just an escape, until something better comes along.
