" Lots of people have suggested Melatonin. However, it never really worked for me. I'm nocturnal by nature. I just find it easier to sleep during the day...as long as I "feel" sleepy. Or am ready to crash.

You should probably go with what works for you. Try something from a doctor first...there is Sleep MD if you don't want to go with a natural remedy.

What have you tried??? I know a friend of mine gets sleeping meds from the doctor, so if nothing else helps, you could always go to the doctor. But you could always try Melatonin first. "

" I'm no expert but Ambien Cr helped me alot and I was able to wean myself off it. Everyone's different so I don't want to recommend it to you. You should talk to your doctor. "

" OKay... this is what really works for me..
1500mg L-tryptophan
6mg Melatonin (when you have fibro, you need more)
25mg 5-HTP
100mg benadryl

And go to bed same time every night
sleep with a sleep mask so you have no light interfering with the melatonin.

Be sure to take NSAIDs before you go to bed... about 30 min before you lie down so the pain is taken care of.

I used to be on Lunesta. But they no longer have a prescription program for the uninsured that I can afford so I had to quit it.

I found also that having a small fan to keep me cool at night helped too. "

" Regular Ambien works better for me than Ambien CR. It's cheaper too since they make a generic. Temazapam, Xanax and other benzos work wonders, but not too many docs will Rx them due to addictive potential. "

" There are so many things to try, you really need to see a doctor or advice. I've tried trazadone, lunesta, rozerum, ambien, klonopin, neurontin, seroquel. Some didn't work at all, and some worked for a while, then stopped. Right now I'm back to Klonopin--so far it's helping me get to sleep, but I only sleep for about 3-4 hours. My point is, it's different for everyone--you need to see your doc. Good luck! "

" Strongly apposed to the CR, it takes a long time to hit you and then, prepare to be doped up all day long! But standard is pretty good, I do wake up at the 4 or 6 hour mark on occasion though. "
