My Daily Struggle

My body may want to sleep most nights, but my mind often says otherwise. For reasons unknown to me, when I lie down at night, I do not like to fall asleep right away, as I feel it helps me relax. Also, I often tend to prefer a light sleep for an hour or two, prior to heading to my bedroom for 5-6 hours of deeper sleep. I feel as if I am entirely obsessive compulsive regarding my sleeping habits. The past several days have been a bit better, as I have been less anxious and depressed during the day. However, when it comes about time to sleep, I begin to feel a bit more anxious and the "dread" of not desiring to get to bed begins to hit, as do the racing thoughts. Once I am asleep, I typically have no issues staying asleep, and the quality of my sleep is solid. Most weekdays I am able to get between 5-7 hours. However, I am tired of struggling with this dread of not wanting to sleep. Any tips?

" I find there are some nights when I just don't feel tired and I know it's going to be a difficult night. It's the next day and the day after that, that I dread. It all catches up with me and I'm absolutely shattered. I'll sleep ok for a while and then it's back to square one again. "

" Yeah I have to warm up in the couch before I hit the bed. I dont get it though, I love my bed and at times feel cheated that I cant just get in there.

I need to stop putting pressure on sleep but dont know how not to. "
