Whilst I've never "abused" this benzodiasipine drug (..25 mg only at bedtime x 30 yrs), I want to TAPER off it over several months.

Anyone on this drug have comments with ones personal withdrawl, and how it did/didn't work for you?

" Benzo's are wicked nasty to get off of. Fortunately for you this is a low dose. I was taking six to eight milligrams of Ativan so long I had to go into to detox..... In your case just taper off. "

" Thanks hotfoot, what a very informative and eye opener web page!!

Halcion is rarely prescibed anymore and I want off it, because it is a benzodiazipine. I've struggled since I was a child with sleep issues and in my adult years with crazy shift work hours.

I'm on a sick LOA from work right now (for 6 months) and I hope to return to work within a year, after addressing pain and mobility issues through an occupational rehab program, hopefully through my LTD insurance application (still waiting to be accepted or not).

In the meantime, I'm discovering an inner strength I didn't know I had to live one day at a time.
