So I REALLY need to know the mg's Ambien comes in, please help. My Ambien MG is 10mg. Is there 15mg or 20mg Ambien? That would be the real Question I guess. Thanks so much for your help:)

Hello--I have taken Ambien on and off in the past for Insomnia-It comes in 10mg and 12mg--I know, doesn't quite make sense but that is what it comes in. Please be careful with this one, I actually slept walked on this medicine from what my family tells me--I actually made dinner in the middle of the night and never work up through any of it. It may not affect you that way, but please be careful and have someone "monitor" you for the first few times you take it. Good Luck.

Yes. I did too. I had a huge argument with my daughter one night because she would not give me peanuts. I tried to sneek out of my room to go get more. It was like a role reverswal. Then I noticed when I would wake up in the morning there would be wrappers from food (candy/chips) that I would get up and eat at night. Put n 30 lbs and the final straw was that my teen noticed that it really knocked me out and her dad worked nights so she started to wait for me to go to slepp and then would sneak out.
I hated everything about this drug so I definately say please be careful too.

Lets just say I call Ambien my "dead pills" because thats what its like... blink your asleep for 4 hours but it only feels like a blink, and in the meantime, I'd get up, drink tea, wash dishes, and ARGUE, never remembering a thing... I am trying to kick the pills but its tough to get through the rebound insommnia. Evil little pills I love to hate. And I only took 1/2 a pill (5 mg) each night... and I want one right now

I have never had any problem with this medication at all. At worst, I have had a few conversations I can't remember, but certainly not got out of bed or ate everything. At a very bad time, this was the only medication that offered me any relief. People are always very quick with the bad, but not the good. I would have lost my mind without it.
It does lose effectiveness the more you take it, so maybe taking one and a half would be the best thing to try, plus look for other things to help you in the meantime so you are not on it all the time. My doctor actually prescribed me the 12 one which is slow acting (and does nothing for me on it's own) with half a 10 which worked beautifully. BTW I am now virtually off it altogether as I have found an anti depressant to help me, It is called Prothiaden here in Aust, not sure of the US name. Patience is needed as it took a very long time to take affect - a good six weeks, during which time I was nearly losing my mind and would have without the ambien. Now finally I can sleep most nights on two prothiaden 2 hours before bed. It's not what you would call quality sleep as I am still awake every two hours or so, but do go back to sleep in less than an hour of waking, so I am back on function again and life is nearly back to normal.
