Pain one year later

I had bilateral inguinal hernia repair surgery done in June 2008. It took me a while to recover from surgery, still had immense pain into August. Well, a couple weeks ago I started having some discomfort and pain on my right side where one of the hernias was. I wrote it off because it does tend to flare up occasionally. As of the past few days, however, the pain is constant. It feels like there is a ball stuck in between my groin and my thigh, thats the only way I can describe the weird sensation. Its very similar to what I was experiencing a year ago. There is no visible lump but there wasn't one when I had the surgery a year ago either. Its extremely tender to the touch and my testicles are achey and sore, they weren't last time.
Called my surgeon from last year today and got an appt. for tomorrow morning. Any thoughts? Possibly a recurrence? Maybe I just irritated the mesh or something? Ahh. Posted on 06/09/09, 04:06 pm |
