Pregnancy after Inguinal Hernia Surgery

Hi,
I recently had surgery to repair my inguinal hernia and I am wondering how long I should wait before trying to get pregnant? The hernia was repaired with mesh and was on the left side. It was incredibly painful and swollen after the surgery but the swelling went down after about a week and a half and it seems to be healing nicely. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience or knows of anyone who has gotten pregnant after the surgery. I was told that getting pregnant would be fine -- just don't know when! Thank you!
