I had surgery on Monday, November 10th, 2008. I had a right inguinal and umbilical hernia open surgery. I have never felt pain like this but, I am not letting it get me down. Can anyone tell me what to expect in the next couple of weeks. I was suppose to have laproscopic but, that was changed to open. I feel weak at times and having to rest more than usual. Just wanted to see how everyone else is coping with hernia surgery.

" hi ,,welcome....i have posted my healing time in many of my postings. it is different for everyone but take it slow... yes ,you will have a very weak feeling for days. all this is normal,,i had lightheadiness for days after the op.
for me it is comming up on 6 months and i am still getting stronger each day. as a man i was always doing heavy lifting.that came back the slowest but what i am doing now is almost what i was doing before i got hurt.... i remember my first BIG STEPS were getting out fo the house by the 3rd or 4th day and walking outside.. than twice a day i would walk further and further...... good luck..........
