I am new to the site and could really use some encouragement and advice.
My husband and I have been ttc for over 1 year now - clomid, femara and ovarian drilling surgery treatments later, we have still not had any glimmers of hope. Now, to boot, my DH is feeling pressure - we have missed our opportunity to conceive for 2 cycles because of said pressure. I should have quit trying last month, but because of surgery and it's temporary window of opportunity, I kept pressing on. Not only do I have to deal with my body not cooperating/responding to treatments, now I have to worry about what this is doing to my marriage. Is anyone else out there dealing with the same issues????? Please help!!!! I am ready to walk into my dr's appointment on Wednesday and tell him that I QUIT!!!!!!! Posted on 10/26/09, 09:10 pm |

Aggie, I can't say that I can relate as far as pressure with my marriage but I will say that my husband and I made a deal before we began fertility treatments that if it began to weaken our bond then we would stop (even if it's temporarily). It's silly to bring a baby into the world and into your family if your and your husbands relationship isn't as strong as it should be. It will only push the two of you further apart. I don't know if you have the time, but now would be a great time to go away for a long weekend to reconnect and just have a good time with your husband. Something my husband and I began doing during this time was to have a guaranteed date night every Friday. Even if it's takeout and a movie. It's designated time for just us without any distractions. Hope this helps!! Good Luck!!

You have to take care of your physical and mental health first. Even saying that, the depression I go through every month when I find out I'm not pregnant is horrific. I stay at home all day with the only baby I'll have. I have no work to go to because the woman I trained stole my job when I came back from maternity leave. I was kicked to the curb as punishment for getting pregnant. The one thing I have plenty of time to do -have a baby- is another job eliminated from me. I enjoy my time with the baby, but I waited til age 34 to settle down with the right man. Now at age 36 I've waited too long obviously. I must be too old. We've tried an ovary iodine test, hubby's tests were fine. Nothing seems to be the problem. But no baby.
I guess I should count my blessings, but I just can't let the dream go. I'm researching adoptions to keep me upbeat in the meantime.
