Does anyone else who has PCOS suffer from horrible acne? Mine is awful. I've always had it bad, except when I was on birth control... but if I'm trying to get pregnant, I obviously can't be on BC. I have tried EVERYTHING it seems like.... ProActiv, Murad, Biore, Neutragena, Acne Free, everything in WalGreens.... and NOTHING really works. I'm currently trying the Tea Tree line from The Body Shop. My skin is still awful though. I'm a high school English teacher and it's SO embarassing to have worse acne than my students!!

Has anyone else with PCOS found any treatments that actually work??? I realize what works for someone else may not work for me... but I'm looking for any suggestions. :) Thanks.

" I also have pcos, and bad acne. Mine also is ok when on the pill, but like you said, cant be on it hwne we are ttc. The only thing I have tried that has really helped alot is the acne line from Clinique. Its quite spendy but it worked for me. I have found some other cheaper brands that are somewhat comparable but if I could afford to always have the Clinique I would. Hope this helps! "

" I've had acne since I was 11 yrs old and it can be a real pain. It quite mild now tho only flaring up around that time of month. I have v sensitive skin so am allergic to alot of the ingredients that are used in acne treatments. I try and wear hypoallergenic breathable makeup (and only wear minimal amount), drink plenty of water and try and eat healthy. I also put toothpaste on stubborn spots at night which seems to help (sexy I know! but hubby got used to it now!). You could try asking ur doctor for antibiotic treatment?? "

" Spironolactone has helped me with acne and facial hair, but it hasn't completely cleared it up. It's a prescription for high blood pressure, but my ob/gyn says it helps keep testosterone levels down. "
