Hi there
I will be starting the Gnrh pump May 1/09. I had an accident 3 years ago where I had a concussion and since then have not been ovulating. My doctor has made me very optimistic about this treatment and I'm wondering if anyone has been on it and has since conceived? If so, how long did it take of being on the pump?

HI
i started using the pump last May and by August i was pregnant, i am now in my 37th week and expecting a baby boy. i had never ovulated before this treatment and was amazed how well it worked. When i started the treatment i had never ovulated, therefore my ovaries and uteras were half the size they should have been. Within two months of using the pump everything was the right size and 2 ovulations later i was pregnant. The pump is amazing, i cant beleive how lucky i was to get to use it. im now looking forward to meeting my miracle baby boy in a few weeks time. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me. good luck. x

Hi all! just found this webpage and i have the feeling to ahre my history. I had the GNRH pump on 2007 and after one cycle with it I got pregnant and I had a cutie baby-girl that is now 21 months old.
They thought that after the 1st pregnancy and the breastfeeding period my hormones levels could return to normal, but that never happened, so now that we are looking for our 2nd baby I´m connected to the GNRH pump for the 2nd time, with more confidence and more relax of course than the first time, because I know it works for me. So fingers cross, as I´m in the second day with the pump :) I also wanted to ask you girls, what type of medication do you take (when you are not pregnant of course) to have a normal life, I take hormones recommended by my doctor and also Calcium+VitD, as you know our problem could cause ostheoporosis. It would be good to hear from you! :)

Hello Ladies!
I have some good info on the GnRH drug. There is currently a research study being completed using GnRh. They are looking for participants. I am in the study. From what I understand.... Apparently in the past the FDA has only approved GnRH to be administered through the IV PUMP. This study is not to test the efficacy of the GnRH drug because they apparently know it works already. This study is to get FDA approval to administer the drug through a patch that you wear on your arm. The patch is called the Lutrepatch. The purpose of the study is to show that this drug can be administered in an easier fashion (the patch). The pharmaceutical company (Ferring Pharmaceuticals) will then take the results of the study to the FDA and try to get the patch approved for use. The patch sounds much easier than an IV pump. Check it out at this website. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...#locn The website includes a list of physicians across the United States that are participating in the study. I am not a medical professional! I'm just giving you the info I've been given while in the patch study. I'm haven't started the patch yet. I should be starting it within the next week or so. Good luck!

wow crissie - that is fascinating, thanks for the info! it makes sense really ... those pumps are such old technology, you'd think they could've come up with something more sophisticated by now. thanks again, i'll look into it!

i was on the pump for several months recently. It worked fantastically for inducing ovulation but we did not fall pregnant after 3 cycles. I found the pump easy to use as it can be worn and hidden easily. I agree it would be more convenient to have a flat patch rather than a somewhat bulky pump.
I have heard about this study and know someone who participated earlier this year. From what I've been told, I don't think it is aimed at helping you conceive....but I hope you get something out of it. Best of luck.

Obviously the study is not directly trying to make women get pregnant. However they are trying to get a drug approved that will help women get pregnant. You get the drug for free along with a vast array of free fertility testing. The free medical help was what caught my eye.
If the drug works....and we know that it does from other users previous posts....then when you get put on the drug in the study then you are going to be more likely to conceive. I've been wearing the patch for a week now and it has induced ovulation for me. Now if I can just get the sperm to meet the egg!

How is everyone who is using the pump? It would be great if we could all update on our status. We know that Joe (who started the thread) had great success quite soon after starting the pump.
Me: no luck after 3 cycles so I tried IVF and it worked. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. Next stop is frozen embryo transfer. Chrissie, how is the patch trial going? Teen and mrspump, how about you?
