First failed IUI... What to do next???

I had my first IUI on June 6th and i found out on Friday it was a BFN. I have PCOS and I'm currently taking metformin (1000mg a day). Last cycle I used clomid(started cd 3 for 5 days.) which I had to take twice because my follicles weren't big enough. This is my 3rd or 4th time taking clomid and I feel like it either took too long or my body wasnt responding the way it did the first time. I'm not ovulating on my own I had to trigger to O. And I only had one big enough follicle to work with. I was just wondering if anyone has had the same experience and maybe have some suggestions to what I could try next time, maybe other than clomid or in addition to?? Has anyone done injectables with iui?.... AF just started today so I want to be prepared with questions when I go in on Monday ;)

" I went through 3 failed IUIs with clomid. They may look at increasing your clomid dosage, but I recommend still doing the IUIs. The saying I have heard is do three rounds of clomid if that doesn't work do three rounds of IUI. I have PCOS as well and had all the signs of ovulating on clomid but they just recently found out I have 3 golf ball size cyst. So please make sure they monitor you closely! Good luck I know it is very frustrating! "

" I had the same thing happen. After taking clomid for ten days and not having a great responce we swtiched the treatment for the next cycle. My RE had me take 5 days of clomid and then 5 days of injectables. I had a better responce but still didn't work. This past cycle I did just injectables and still a BFN. My RE recommends doing each treatment three times with IUI before moving on to the next-so 3 rounds clomid, 3 rounds clomid and injectables, and then 3 rounds with just injectables. If all those fail they recommend to move onto IVF BUT you can continue doing IUI's if you want. Good luck to you! "

" Thanks for the input... I was looking into injectables and a friend of mine who's actually a pro at IVF actually mentioned doing it. I guess I'll have to talk it over with my RE and come up with a better plan because I feel like I need more than what we are doing now. I would like to jump to IVF but I'm pretty sure they are going to make me try iui at least three times before I can :( we shall see... Wish me luck!! And thanks again!!! "
