IUI scheduled but no surge

I have an IUI scheduled for tomorrow but have not yet had my LH surge on an OPK. We would need DH to go in early, before the phone lines open, to provide the sample, but I'm not sure I want him to do that if there will be no IUI tomorrow due to lack of surge. I can't call the Dr's office before DH's appointment because their phone lines will be closed.

Has anyone ever been in a situation similar to this and if so, what did you do? Do they do IUI's even if there is no surge? I just don't want to miss it in case they would do an IUI, but I don't want DH to waste a sample if we will just need him to do it again the next day.

" Hi,
You need to ask your doctor for a prescription for Ovidrel. It will trigger ovulation within 36 hours it really works. Your doctor should time your IUI in conjunction with your shot. I did two IUI's and both times we did it with Ovidrel and it worked. Hopefully your doctor has done several ultrasounds, and monitored your blood work this month in preparation for this IUI. I remember being so scared the day of my first IUI, but it was over in a few minutes. I would suggest having your husband produce a sample at the office so you don't have to worry about rushing to the office in traffic to make it in one hour.
Good luck and stay calm.
Blessings,
Penelope "

" How did things turn out? Were you on a trigger and still no LH surge? I have never had a surge that showed on my OPKs. I didn't even test this month since I did IUI with trigger.
Are you testing in the afternoon? Because usually that is when the surge occurs.
