First try at IVF in Aug/Sept

Well it's official, we are trying one round at IVF with my OE before we move on to DE. My chances are very minimal, only giving us a 20-25% success rate. I have low ovarian reserve. I feel I have to give it one shot anyway.

Not looking forward to the shots again (already done one try with injections and TI, unsuccessful) and the emotional roller coaster.

I plan to take the next several weeks focusing on staying positive and knowing God only gives me what I can handle.

We got a list of donors today with some info about each one, like hair/eye color, ethnicity, body build, education, etc. We got really excited and have already picked out a couple we really like. We are going to be parents one way or another and thats all that really matters. I have hope:)

" Good luck to you!

You are smart to focus on staying positive.

If possible, I'd suggest acupuncture, massage, yoga and walking to help with relaxation and stress. "

" I have low ovarian reserve and I have had two IVF cycles. The first produced 3 mature eggs, and I had a successful pregnancy. My daughter will be 1 next week! My second cycle produced 5 mature eggs (all fertilized) and I transferred two embryos. I am in the midst of my 2ww, so I'm not sure it was successful. But you can see - I did produce eggs. My AMH was less than .16 when last checked.

Good luck with your first cycle. Hopefully there is no need to move to DE, but if you do, I know many women have had great success going that route too. Good luck! "

" Hey ladies...I will also be starting my first round with IVF in the end of Aug/Sept. Maybe we could "cycle" through this together?
We have tried three rounds with just Letrezole and then two rounds of "mini stim" (letrzole plus injections). I had surgery in April and they found I had a lot of endo and some scar tissue. I was so hopeful that once that issue was taken care of, we would get pregnant. My husband is so positive and upbeat about IVF, but it seems so expensive for such low chances of success (I also have low chances 25-30% due to low ovarian load) and I cant imagine not getting my hopes up so very high through this process. But I really dont have any other options...so I guess I will continue on this emotional roller coaster, just like so many of you all. It has been a relief to find this site and read so many other similar stories. It has been very healing. "

" Hello ladies, I am right there with you. Once my period starts we will be off on our first IVF journey (which should be any day now). I am like you Gatorgirl, I had exp. lap surgery and found some endo and scar tissue. They cleaned it up and I had another unsuccessful IUI before I decided to take a 2 yr break. We are hoping this is this trick :) Good luck to all of us! "

" My my period started today, so I go for my blood work tomorrow to start my IVF journey., Besides having IF issues, I have a traveling husband issue. He told me today that he was asked to travel Sept 5-15. He is already gone 8/18-8/31. During the travel time in August, i will be doing my hormones. Because of Memorial day, this would leave Sept 4th to do the egg extraction/sperm collection. Do you know if you are able to schedule things this exactly? I really am anxious now, because the 5-15 travel just came up, he was supposed to be home. He is going to try to see if he can fly home on the 30th vs the 31st of August, and maybe do the collection on the 31st. Any wisdom here would be wonderful! "

" Havefaith24- your comment "...God only gives what you can handle..." really hit home for me. It's been my mantra for the past 2 1/2 yrs and truly believe it. I've had a diagnosis of Grave's disease, hyperthyroidism, & dermoid cyst, 1 miscarriage, 3 failed IUI's, & countless cancelled cycles. I too will begin IVF soon. Good luck to all of us- let's stay positive together! "

" My period started today, 3 days early, so I will be going in tomorrow to do bloodwork etc. I am doing a cycle called Day 2 start. Anyone ever heard or been through this? It basically cuts out the BCP phase and I start meds right away. I want to do the ET before I start back with school so this is what my RE's office suggested. What do ya'll think? "

" ttcteacher....I say they are the professionals....go for it! As long as your ovaries look good when they check you then that's good. The BCP just suppress them....make them quiet. Maybe yours are already quiet:)

I am so glad you all responded!! I wish each one of you the best of luck and continue sharing! I look forward to hearing how each one of you are doing:) "
