thinking of making a new group

I was thinking of start a new group for those ladies here who are considering moving on or have moved on to foster and adopt. I looked at the foster care and adoption sites here but they weren't very helpful and it's not the same situations as what we've been through. Just a place for us to share our stories, feelings and questions. Is there anyone here that would be interested in that at all?

I'm getting very close to moving on to adoption--and walking away from more treatments--I haven't completely made the decision, but it would definitely help to talk to other women who are in the same boat and/or have moved on. It's too bad we can't find a way to get in touch with those women who have left the site because they have moved on, stopped treatment and/or are in the process of adopting. It would be so amazing to hear their experiences and get their perspectives on things.

I also looked for a group like you described and found 'childless not by choice'. It's really worth a look, I have found it really supportive and the people are lovely.

If we don't have a pregnancy by July when we PCS (change station if you don't speak military) then I would love to join your new group. We will be moving on to foster/adoption because the cost of IVF in the US is way more than we can afford. We are currently stationed in Japan and the cost of IVF here is much lower.

What a superb idea! I think that by the way you expressed the titles that it wiuld be better to start two new groups. One for those of us who are moving onto a childless future and one for those of you who are considering adoption/fostering. On the current board, there are so many different people with so many different situations, I think it needs to be broken down so that people get the support that is appropriate for their needs. I would be in the first section . I would like to call it 'Childless Not By Choice', for those of us who have absolutely no options.

That is awesome to do. Im not in your shoes but I know how it is to not have answers!! And it's great to speak to others that know and have been where you are.
I tried to get feed back on DS related to IVF and Type 1 diabetics BUT nobody here can relate or provide info so I joined another site's forum where tons of women like myself can share insulin and Gonal F and of course that BFP, LOL! Now I dont feel so alone! Good luck to you on your journey.
