Does someone have to come with me to the procedure? My doctor didn't say, so I was thinking it was something my husband can skip since he has to work.

" my DH took off for mine cuz i was scared...i hate the word "procedure" as much as "surgery" but they pissed me off bc they wouldn't let him come back with me >:(

it's a no biggie, you might feel like you have light cramps after wards, but its not bad. it's a balloon, some dye, roll from side to side to let it go through your tubes, and your done. My doc wore a headlamp though, so it does look like they are going cave diving...no pun intended...it relaxed me though, bc he looked so funny :-P

GL!!! "

" I've had 2 of them. the first one they didn't tell me to take anything first and it was very uncomfortable. I was glad to have my husband there to take me home.
the second one they told me to take 4 Advil before and it was a lot better. i didn't even feel a thing.
but I brought my DH both times. "

" My doctor didn't wear a headlamp there was a floor lamp they adjusted so they could see. The most uncomfortable part was when the lamp landed on my leg twice. It did feel really weird, though; but no husband is required. I don't know if they all use the same color of dye; but it might be bright red. I didn't expect that for some reason I thought it would be blue. "

" My doc offered me some pain/anxiety meds an hour before the HSG and I'm glad I took him up on the offer. I was very nervous & thankful my DH went with me. It was very painful for me but that's because (as the test showed) my tubes are severely obstructed. Most women don't need to take anything more than some advil & are okay afterwards, with some light cramps. My DH was with me (literally holding my hand) the entire time. I highly suggest bringing your hubby with you for moral support! Best of luck! :-) "

" My husband went with me, but he didn't need to. I let him drive home, but I could have driven. The worst part for me was dreading it beforehand.
Good luck! "
