This experience was so irritating, I just had to share it with people I knew would understand. Our church is putting together a pictorial directory and all of the families in the parish are supposed to have their pictures taken. DH and I went last night. I was in a really bad mood on the way because I had always envisioned our first family photo in the church directory to include more than just me and DH. Well we get there and the photographer asks us if we are married or engaged, we tell him married (duh our form said Mr. and Mrs), then he says any kids yet? Why in the world would we have a family photo taken and not bring our kids if we had them. So of course we answer no. Then he proceeds to talk about babies throughout the entire photography session. To get us to smile he says "Surprise your having a baby boy!" Then when he wanted a more peaceful reaction he told me to imagine I'm watching my babies fall asleep. I could not believe this guy and all his baby comments, I just wanted to scream at him! Needless to say the photographs turned out awful. I looked so annoyed in all of the pictures. And to top it all off the family that came in after us had a baby with them. It was horrible!

That is the worst!! I am so so sorry. I think I would have screamed at him. I am sorry some pple are just plain ignorant. Ugh!

Oh wow that is awful! How random was that too? It isnt like you dont have reminders every day that you dont have children yet...you dont need a dumb stranger pointing it out. Im sorry you had to go through that!!

That was so awful of that man! But DH, DD and I want to take a family photo BUT I refuse to anymore since we dont have a baby!! We've taken photo's together but nothing professional. I wanna do that when we have an addition. Sounds crazy but that makes me depressed.

gosh sometimes when this happens to me I'm thinking to myself am I being punked is this for real. But people have no idea what we are going through let alot what infertility is. I do have to admit it was a dumb question, it isn't like you would of left your kid at home and took the pic without them. geez . sorry you had to go through this. have a good day.

I am so very sorry. That was very insensitive of him. I have a feeling I would have told him something to get him to stop or our pictures would have come out with me looking annoyed too (or even crying).

Thank you everyone for your replies. I seriously thought that guy was never going to stop with the baby comments. I forgot to mention when he wanted to get a serious face from DH he told him to imagine he was scolding the kids, I couldn't believe it. DH handled it much better than I did...his pictures turned out pretty good although we did not buy any!

oh my..... really what could be worse... the man was torturing you and he didnt have a clue, i hope one day you can look back and laugh about it...... it is truly unbelievable.... i am so sorry!
