Holiday Cards

As everyone knows the holidays are quickly approaching (61 shopping days left!!!) I thought I would post the "Holiday Card" topic. Last year Lionness816 was kind enough to compile a list of names for anyone who wanted to participate. It was so much fun sending cards and looking forward to the mail to see what new cards had arrived.
If you are interested please send me a private message with your full name, screen name and address. I will keep a list together and around Thanksgiving I will send the full list to all those who replied. The holiday's can be really hard when struggling with IF. This gives us something special to look forward to and adds so much happiness to the holiday season. I can't express enough how much it meant to me to look at my cards every day last year and know I was not alone during the holidays (or any other time of the year). Last year I believe we had a total of 72 or so of us who participated, lets see how many we can get this year! Also, for those of you celebrating holiday's other than Christmas, make a note in your message to me and I'll let the group know so that your holiday can be honored as well. :) Looking forward to a very special holiday season!! I am so excited! Thank you for putting the list together this year. I can say without any hesitation that the DS cards were one of the best parts of my holidays the last few years. The holidays can be really hard when having IF. I know for me I would always wonder what it would be like if we had a child to share all the joys and wonder with. It was always hard to end yet another year with empty arms. But when I would come home every day and see all the cards hanging around my house I would be filled with peace and love knowing I was not alone on this IF journey. It helped give me hope going into each new year that even though I was ending a year with no child I was also entering a new year full of possibilities. Again, thank you for taking the time to do this and I really look forward to being a part of it again! :-)

i realized i didn't put the meaning of the holiday card list in my original post LOL
for those of you who are new, or haven't had a chance to participate in the past, the holiday list is a way for us to spread holiday cheer during what can be the most trying time of the year for those of us battling IF. Once I get everyone's info I'll send out a final list to those wishing to participate. We then send a holiday card to each person on the list. Last year I think we had about 70+ participants and all through the holiday season we would receive cards from our DS sisters! It was wonderful! I've already gotten 9 responses! Can't wait to see how many we can this year! :) Happy Start to the Holidays!!!! :)

Patsy, "bump" is when you are bumping something up to the top of the discussion list so people have a better chance to see it.
I did the card exchange last year and it was so wonderful! I was wondering how all of you ladies felt about someone who has recently graduated from the IF board participating. I loved giving and receiving support, but have finally after many, many years gotten my BFP, so I understand if this is a sensitive topic. Let me know how you feel. I promise I will not be offended.

Now this topic seems to have come up a few times recently...
I know that there are a few of the ladies here who have expressed their discomfort at seeing the pregnant ladies here in the fertility boards. Many of us have discussed our difficulties around facing pregnant people. I can certainly understand the need to feel this is our safe zone. BUT, I value the friendships I have made here! I truly want to know when my dear DS friends are receiving their long awaited miracles. We need to support each other when we graduate to pregnancy, cuz unfortunately I as have experienced now 2x since I have been here on DS, not every pregnancy ends with a baby in your arms & I know I need the support of the friends I have made here to pull me through that hell as well! I believe the ladies that have gotten pregnant & their stories are often just what we need! They bring hope & information MANY of us are desperate for. Yes, limit the discussions ABOUT the pg itself, there is another place for that, but I do hope that the many 'graduated' members from the IF boards pop in now & then. Ok, so there I have said my peace. I don't know if this was THE place that it will have the most impact or is the most appropriate... HOWEVER, that said, I want to send 'holiday cheer' to the ladies I have come to know & love here. Even the pregnant ladies like you Ms Suzanne!!!
