Big fat uterine polyp

Hi - so a couple of weeks ago I got my HSG and they found a big fat uterine polyp in there. I don't have anything to compare it to in size - but covered roughly 1/4 the area of my entire uterus so seems fairly big to me. I don't have my next appointment (as I'm moving onto a fertility doc) for 2 months. Does anyone think I should be concerned that they aren't jumping over themselves to remove this thing sooner? I'm sure to me it seems like an urgent situation - but what do you think? Thanks girls/guys, I really appreciate your input so much!

I had a uterine polyp that they took out that took up over 1/2 of my uterus. The doctor only rushed to get it out because she wanted me to get to IVF ASAP, and wanted to give me some time to heal...She did say that 95% of the time, polyps in younger women are absolutely nothing to worry about, and are just benign growths. She also said that they are extremely slow growing, so even in worst case scenarios (which I'm sure your's isn't so DON'T worry), they can take a few months to figure out what they want to do. Your Dr probably just wants your RE to take care of it...

8 years ago they found a small polyp in my uterus, a month later I had a D&C, 2 months later I got pregnant, I now have a healthy 7 year old daughter. I am just saying, that a polyp can prevent an embryo from attaching. They weren't in any rush to get mine out either, but I was so, I took my ob/gyn's first available to get it out. I would just tell them you want it out!! Good luck!

I had one that caused my first miscarriage. It took up 90% of my uterus. I should have KNOWN something was wrong as intercourse for about a YEAR was painful regardless of position...but I was afraid, and didn't go see the GYN till I thought I was pregnant.
After my miscarriage they put me on Clomid for and additional SIX MONTHS because it had taken me so long to get pregnant. I then switch GYNs and was on a 2 month "break" until I could have my HSG. Following that I want to say it was another 2 months before my surgery...so that bugger was there for a MINIMUM of 18 months. Incidentally my follow up HSGs at the 6 month, and 7 year mark showed ALL CLEAR!! Good luck to you!

I just had one removed this past March. I'd let the Re remove as he/she has more experience. It wasn't really that big of a deal for me, but I have had giant fibroid tumors removed.
