I started an IVF treatment not too long ago. I was prescribed Lupron in the beginning and then added Repronex to the mix. It hurt like hell, but I only had to take repronex for about a week. I started with 2 vials off the bat. For the last two and a half days, I had to take 3 vials. I'm from Hawaii, and I know IVF treatment differs from other states. I don't know anything about the levels that they want. I also didn't have anything to do with Estradiol until after they retrieved my eggs. Hope this helps.

When our old RE was trying to get my estradiol up they did a Reprones/Gonal-F split. So I used two powders of the Repronex in the morning and Gonal-F at night. I got painful welts from the Repronex so they switched me to Menopur. One trick to avoid that some is to draw the meds into the syringe and let it sit for about 20 minutes before injecting it.

I would think if they start you right away on a higher dose that your E2 will rise better. Is this for IVF or IUI?

Our new RE does not want my E2 to be that high so our 5th cycle will be straight Gonal-F.

After several rounds on Follistim-where I produced a rediculous number of eggs-My RE moved me onto Menopur (same as Repronex). Both rounds of Follistim looked perfect but ended in BFN. My first cycle on Menopur I also was not responding very well to it, my numbers were low and after 10 days on it they increased me to 1 & 1/2 bottles for another 4 days. At the end of it all I had one little follicle ready for the trigger. I wasnt very hopeful but a few weeks later-BFP. Im now obviously a big fan of long slow stim on Menopur. Good luck! ~April
