RE gave me a perscription for Prometrium which is progesterone (spelling feels weird) anyway- bottle says take 4 times a day, not my question, but there are 120 of them. So I have to take them for 30days. Does that sound right to you guys? The bottle is totally full and they cost $250 so I wanted to make sure. I have to start taking them tomorrow. Thanks for your feedback.

My Re prescribed me Prometrium, I had to take it 2 x a day... until I got a BFP or BFN.
If it was a BFP I would continued to take until 8 weeks preggers. Since it wasn't I stopped taking it. Are you taking it bcause your in your 2 ww or pregnant?

2ww. 1st IUI this morning, 2nd tomorrow. I'll start taking it then. Kinda scared of side effects and all. Feel crazy enough as it is! Also feel like someone punched me in the stomach.

I take prometrium beginning 4 days after hCG, continue until I get a BFP (which hasn't happened) or until my beta shows BFN. I take the capsules that you insert vaginally 2x/day. I guess your diagnosis might require you to take it differently. Hope this helps.

Hi. I have taken both oral and intravaginal. The oral made my boobs bigger, and made me a little more dizzy and emotional, I think. Did your doctor tell you to take them 4 times a day? That seems like more than I have heard other people say. I would ask tomorrow at the IUI. The intravaginal gave me some of the side effects, bloating and weight gain. Also more gross-comes out from where it came in-you can feel it and everything. But, It does help my progesterone level which is chronically low.

I start Prometrium 3 days after IUI. I take 200mg 3x's a day until either BFP or BFN. If BFN, I stop and AF comes within a couple of days. If I get lucky and get BFP, I will continue to take it. It will help thicken the uterine lining and support an emby.

4 times a day seems a lot, mine was always 2x's a day vaginally inserted until beta test if neg stop them if positive then continue them.
