Lupron

I may or may not be starting cycle 2 next week. I have some lupron left from last time, the pharmacy says it expires after two weeks. My nurse indicated that she didn't believe that to be true. I have had it in the fridge this whole time. I am ordering more, but it's hard to know when I should order it, if it's going to go bad...should I wait...but with christmas, I don't think I can wait too much longer. I am worried that I will be ordering it for nothing if I end up having to wait a month ( based on whether or not I get AF before or after Christmas). Has anyone else saved meds from one cycle to the next?

" I'm in the same boat. We have some lupron left from a cycle in October. The nurse didn't seem to think there was any problem in finishing that vial first. She ordered another vial of lupron from the pharmacy but put it on hold until I call. Hopefully we won't need it. I haven't heard that it expires after two weeks. Maybe that's only if it hasn't been kept refrigerated. I hope so. Good luck with your next cycle. "

" I have a vial in my fridge from a cycle I'm just completing. The expiration date is 01/09 (i'm assuming this means as long as it's been in the fridge).

Does your vial have an expiration date? I think you're in the clear! "

" It does have an expiration date...for some reason it says it's only valid for 28 days. I guess my doctor should know best, right? I dunno, I ordered a new one and will double check with them. Thanks! "

" I just spoke to my nurse and she told me that the specific type of lupron I am on only can be used for 28 days. So I am canceling my order. If I am lucky enough to try again this month, there is a pharmacy locally that carries it. I am so lucky to be in a metropolitan area!!!!!! Thanks ladies for your advice. "
