As I was hurting last night I was thinking of the things we go through to get our dream. I was thinking of the insane things that I personally have done and I know you all can relate. Then what popped in my head was that episode of "Friends" when Chandler and Monica decided to start "trying" for a baby while at the hospital and they started "trying" right then and there, in the hospital.
So, without being too graphic, what are some funny things you have done while ttc? Or, where have you ttc that wasn't the most suitable for the task at hand? I'll start.. Since dw and I can't just get preggo alone (trust me, we've practiced, it's just not working..lol) we are using a private fresh donor. He isn't a friend or anything, just someone we found on a site for that. Anyway, these past 2 inseminations his wife has come. Talk about awkward! She is super nice and I really appreciate her, but it's still different than most. Aside from that, I find it humerous that we insiminate ourselves. That consists of my dw using a needless syring to "deliver" the sperm. It isn't the most glamorous way to concieve, but hopefully it'll work. My fav story of us TTC was one time when DH had to give a sperm sample for IVF. Usually we did fresh samples, but a few weeks before out last IVF session my DH broke his ankle and was very stressed about it so we decided it give the sample a few days early and get to frozen just to be safe. I was nervous that he would be so stressed on the big day the he might get stage fright & not be able to produce a sample. I figured better to be safe and give ourselves that piece of mind knowing that sample was ready & waiting. The thing is with his broken ankle he was in a lost of pain already and when he went not the little room to provide his sample his whole body tensed up when his was producing the sample and this tension cause even more pain in this ankle and he yelped. I was in the waiting room with several other people and the nurses and we all hear this scream come for the back. I almost burst into laugher. DH could not get out of the clinic fast enough & at first was super embarrassed and was not willing to talk about it. But now we can laugh a little between the 2 of us about it! Poor Guy…. Hahahah! Oh the things we will do to get a baby.

Too cute!! We have done the pretty much stand on your head afterwards lol!!
Also, this is more of a neat thing for us!! We had one previous IUI (with a specialist, not an RE). Anyhow, my DH is in the military and he is a combat medic. We were in the docs office and getting ready to do our first IUI. The doc looked at him and said well since you have some medical experience, would you like to help! Of course my DH said yes!! They had him use the little machine to do the sperm washing and then actually allowed him to push the sperm and saline flush afterwards!! It was pretty cool!!

I think we have all done the standing on our head thing!
At our first IUI DH was a nervous wreck. He normally is a prety quiet guy, but being so nervous made him have all this energy and he kind of became a major goof ball. He did things the entire time but the two I remember best were when we started the nurse inserted the speculum and said, "Lets have a look" and my husband goes, "ECHO, Echo, echo..." Then when it was all over he leaned back in his chair with his hand behind his head and said, "Man, that was the greatest baby making I ever did." Looked at me and said, "Was that as good for you as it was for me?" and then looked at the nurse gave her a big high five and said, " I KNOW that was as good for you as it was for me." She lost it laughing and had to leave the room to regain her composure. On our second IUI he was his normal self, but joking a little bit.

DH was holding my hand while our nurse practitioner performed our first IUI. When she left the room after it was complete, my husband said, "Oh, yeah! My first threesome."
Then, he leaned in to kiss me to "make it official" and the leg of the chair broke. And he was too embarrassed to tell them, so I feel sorry for the next guy who sits down...

good stories ladies! No one has been brave enough to share there we "got it on here cause we were ovulating" story?!? I know y'all have some :)lol..
It's amazing what we will do to see those two lines. I think if someone told me that holding my nose while doing the hokey pokey would get me pregnant, I'd do it!

I stood on my head several months in a row, then would lay with my feet up for at least another ten minutes, til we found out our issue was DH's low morphology...what a waste of time and blood rushing to my head!:)
My favorite funny moment though was when we were heading in to do our embryo transfer and DH said to the RE (who fortunately has a good sense of humor), "well, hope you are better at this than I am" and she answered, "don't worry, my success rates are much higher than yours":)

Haha, "my first threesome." Geez I cannot remember but let's just say when I see the stupid ovulating smiley face it is all business, like no foreplay let's get the swimmers in the right spot. Giving a sample in the RE bathroom has got to be embarrassing for guys--our clinic just has stacks of toilet paper for him to look at, it's just a regular bathroom. He did that for many IUI's, IVF, and at the urologist----haha. Whatever, his part is way easier than my appointments!
We did stay at the cabin and skip out on skiing with my brother and our friends in North Carolina so we could time sex right. We just told them we were tired from driving. Then we were bored sitting around by the fire all day waiting for them to get back. We should have skied! It would have been more fun. :-)
