Hello once again you guys. I have just finished my period this week. and I noticed that on the first day the color of the blood was dark red. Is that a normal color for the blood to be while women are on a period or is that a sign of a problem? Please help I need answers. feedback is greatly appreciated.

" Everyone is different, even periods are different from month to month for the same person. I think the color is perfectly fine. I used to worry about it because it would be bright red some days and dark and clotty the next, but my RE and OBGYN have had me tested with everything and they said that it is perfectly normal.

Hope this helps. "

" I agree that the color varies throughout the cycle. My RE nurse told me that brownish/red can be old blood. "

" Anything from light brown to pink to red to dark red to black can be normal. It can be different colors for many different reasons. It can be liquid, have bits of tissue and clots and still be normal. Doctors are most concerned with overly heavy flow and irregular time inbetween periods.

If you feel that it may be a problem call your doctor. Its always better safe than sorry. "
