PMS symptoms?

Since my surgery in May i have noticed that I have really bad pms about a week before my period. Anxious, irritability, nauseous, weight gain, headaches, fatigue. You name it i feel it. Pamprin, Midol etc are not seeming to help very much. Is there anything anyone can recommend? Maybe herbal? It's enough that for 2 weeks out of the month I just don't feel like myself at all. Once my period starts I seem to actually feel better.

" Bump!! I feel the same way. Ugh. I take motrin the week before b/c I start cramping as well and very weepy and cranky . I just told my DH the other night that after this ivf cycle works (hopefully) or if we decide to adopt I am going on the pill again b/c I can't take the PMS and I felt so much better on the pill.. I hope someone gives us another idea. "

" There is absolutely NO medical backing on this, but for whatever reason it works for me....

I take PABA, which used to be put in sunscreen. I take one pill a day and have no PMS symptoms until the day I start my period. When I don't take the PABA, I have two weeks of PMS symptoms just like you described. I buy it from The Vitamin Shoppe, although GNC and such would have it too. It's like $6 for a bottle of 100 and it makes me feel like a normal person. Because it's Vitamin B based (I think), it's not any of the Midol, Motrin things you shouldn't be taking just in case you are pregnant.

Again, I don't know why it works or who it will work for, but it's a night and day difference for me! "

" I have two suggestions: (1) my doctor recommended taking one tylenol each night before my cycle starts. (2) you may need prescription medication. My doctor prescribed naproxin, a generic loratab. "

" I went to my doc and told her about it and she told me my only option was birth control! We are not ttc right now, but I don't really wanna go back on the pill. Thanks for the advice! "
