Advice:
Starting PGD IVF

Hi I was diagnosed with Turner's Syndrome in June after 2 miscarriages.
I'm 27 and have been married little over a year.
oh, and my hair is falling out because of the stress.
I'm highly likely to hit menopause within 2 years at best, so I don't really have he lux of taking my time to get used to all this new info if I want to try to have a baby.
So, we've decided to go ahead with the IVF

(as without it I'd just have miscarriages and stillbirth as either my eggs are wrong or my hormones are off and the Dr's are not willing to give me the hormones incase it prolongs a bad pregnancy and causes me complications)

as we're going to do IVF and we know I have Turner's then it's logical to do PGD, so I've ordered the spit test kits to do that 109 other genetic irregualrities either of us might carry, that this can also be tested for with the PGD,

trying to stay logical isn't always so easy!

So now I'm trying to get thru to my RE to get the PGD underway,
well I'm not really sure what will happen, I don't know the ins and outs of IVF, all I know is both my husband and I need to do blood work first and that I need to take a lot of shots to stop my ovaries working then boost them beyond normalicy.

Is there any info anyone can share, any advice or pointers are very welcome.

Best of luck to you all
Jo

" I don't know anything about Turners, but I can tell you what I did as far as IVF goes. It's a lot of tests, blood work, meds and ultra sounds. Here's what I did:

I was on birth control pills 6/13-6/27
Began Lupon when I was still on the pill 6/23-7/10
I had my first U/S 6/29
I started Follistim and Menopur (injectables) 6/29-7/10
I had my 2nd U/S 7/10
I did a shot called HCG to start my ovulation and than 36 hrs later
I had my E/R (egg retrieval)
Then you would have ether a 2-5 day transfer (mine was a 2 day transfer)
Then you wait 2 weeks to see if you are pregnant!

I hope that helps. Feel free to message me with any question. Gook luck!
P.S. Sorry about your miscarriages. Your not alone. It happen to me also. "

" Hi Nanny2

I'm a nanny too,

Thanks for the info, it's nice to get than from people who've been through it, although the Dr's etc are great at explaining it, i kind of get lost as they smile at me as if I'm just going to get my teeth checked.

I get that it's routine for them, but for me it's huge.

Thank you again, my husband is now realising a lot will happen in that month or two for us.

I read this kind of thing to him too, it helps us both a great deal, thank you for your kindness. "

" Bump.

I did it, we got one golden egg and are now parents to an 18month old daughter.

POF is kicking in, so they say and life is pretty damned good. "
