ED caused by Hypertension/Diabetes

My husband has ED as a result of hypertension and diabetes and the medications he takes to control those conditions. I'd like to hear from anyone who has experienced this situation and to know if ED got better with lifestyle changes to be healthier (i.e. weight loss, exercise).

Thanks!

" Greetings!

My hubby is bipolar and the meds he takes for that has caused his ED as well. There are other drugs available that MIGHT not cause as much problem with his ED, but he is stable on the ones he is taking now. I wouldn't want to change his bipolar meds. "

" Ofcourse ED gets better with healthier lifestyle...But doctor consultation is equally important...Your doctor will decide on the most appropriate treatment, once he or she has explained the pros and cons of each with you.And it will definitely help out. "

" Thanks for the replies! At least there's hope things will improve. My husband has talked to his dr but his dr is focused on getting his blood pressure regulated. He seems to be oblivious that this is a big deal (maybe its not life threatening but it's pretty important to me). Might be time to find a new doctor.
Agains thanks for the advice. It's nice to know we aren't the only ones facing this struggle, "

" Diabetes can damage the blood vessels and nerves that control erection. So, even if you have normal amounts of male hormones ,you still may not be able to achieve a firm erection. It is impossible to separate this problem from hypertension and from the other vascular risk factors. Good glycaemic and hypertension control in diabetics is very important since these factors increase the risk of both microvascular and macrovascular complications. "

" Any exercise is generally good for erectile dysfunction because it improves blood circulation and cholesterol, crucial to both sexual and cardiovascular health. Some simple lifestyle changes can also help to resolve this problem for some men, adopting a healthier lifestyle, such as quitting smoking, exercising regularly, and reducing stress, may be all that is needed to find relief. " Though I do not suffer from diabetes but I have been overweight and from my experience I noticed several improvements when I started to excercise. First off, you have lose excessive fat and second starting weight lifting have improved my erection and lust. I think learning more about the problem will give you a bigger chance to get rid of your problem. I recently read an article http://erectileformula.com/erectile... which is quite good, have a look, it wont hurt. "

" Also a thing not to overlook is porn use. This will be a diversion of the normal sex drive and in effect is mental adultery. This is more common than one would think. I have found out more than once after going down the medical route that this was the problem, so it is something also to look at. "

" Diabetes mellitus is well known as a cause of ED and in turn the incidence of ED among diabetic men is significantly greater than in non-diabetic men. "

" That site seems to be selling Cialis.

I find excercise and the right amount of sleep beneficial. Also porn can be a reason for it even when there is no health problem at all. Young people are finding this out so it can be in the mind as well.. "
