vaccination viewpoints

As has been demonstrated in some of the parenting communities, there is clearly much debate associated with vaccinations.

Would love to hear some viewpoints?

Thanks,

JFS

" it is always a possibility. People dont like to think so, but it has been proven to be connected in some cases, but as has been stated, it is for the "greater good of the population" to vaccinate, even if it means risking the health or lives of a few babies/children according to all of my research. " I am so sorry for the moms that have lost their children. That is a pain I cannot even imagine. I did not loose my child to vaccines however my son did develop autism due to vaccines. After my son received his 12 months vaccinations we began to notice him not responding to his name any longer, bacame interested in stimming and stopped playing. Prior to these vaccinations one of which was the MMR Sean was a happy little boy that played and responded to his name and was clearly developing fine. I have video to prove it. After the vaccinations and Sean was 18 months old it was clear that we had something to worry about. Hugs and my point is to really really do research before doing vaccinations. Hugs Denise "

" The same with my son. Not long after his 12 months vax, he spiked a fever of almost 106 and ended up in the emergency room with a very nasty case of pneumonia. He hasn't been the same since. Don't get me wrong. He is a blessing in my life every moment of every day, but through MUCH lab testing, I have proven the vax were definitely a contributing factor.

A good book to read about the vaccine/autism connection is "Don't Vaccinate Before You Educate" by Mayer Eisenstein. But I'm going to step back a bit further. Journalist Dan Olmstead did a documentary about an Amish community in PA. Their belief was NOT to vaccinate, and they didn't have a single case of Autism, with one exception: a child who was forcefully removed from the home and vaccinated. The pro-vaccine lot said that this wasn't a good example because the Amish are close-knit and can be considered as coming from the same gene pool (some still think autism is purely genetic).

This is where my experience with Mayer Eisenstein comes in to play. I had a chance to speak to him personally a few hours before his presentation. He disagrees with this "similar gene pool" idea. He told me that in his decades of seeing children, he has not encouraged vaccinations at all. He has seen tens of thousands of children over the decades, and has NT SEEN A SINGLE CASE OF AUTISM in all the families who chose not to vaccinate. "

" My heart goes out to each and everyone one of you that have lost a child. I still say my grandson autism is from the vaccines. I agree with Jenny McCarthy that one size DOES NOT fit all. What might be ok for one is not for the other. "

" I was part of the "other side" on this issue but have been swayed. I too am a SIDS mom. I did not lose my Nick after vaccines because he died before he was old enough to get them. There are just waaaaaaay too many babies dying after getting vaccines though, too many to just be coincidence IMO. I also have a 2 and a half year old who spiked a fever of 105 after the first dose of the pnuemonal coccal shot but yet the doctor was sitting there ready to give the next dose (he has not gotten any more shots). Prior to that, he was developing on schedule. His babbbling stopped altogether and over time slowly came back. Now at 2 and a half he is just now saying single words. My new daughter will recieve some vaccinations but that will not be until she is over a year old.

The benefits outweigh the risks for some. When you find your child dead, it is a risk that some just are not willing to take. It's a catch 22. "

" OMG ....how can somoneone say "The benefits of vaccination strongly out weigh the negative aspects. " I lost a baby to SIDS less that 24 hrs after his first set of shots!!!!!

I was told to contact the vaccine comp board...My pedi said he would contact them and they would contact me...after 3 months i contacted them myself ...received an email that said my pedi contacted them and they had nothing more to tell me or ask me......now that just didnt seem right.......but if there was a mistake on the vaccines part would they admit it??? " I am very sad to here everyone's losses resulting from vaccination. It seems that every negative incidence following vaccination gets passed off, with the excuse that it could have been caused by many things other than the vaccination.

They claim that the benefits outweigh the risks, but I feel that this is only because their data is skewed. Of course if they count every illness and death resulting from "preventable" disease, and discount every illness and death resulting from vaccination, they will find the results they want to sell drugs.

It is much easier to prove death from and illness, than death from vaccines. At some point, they need to recognize that all of these negative outcomes following vaccination are not coincidences.

I have only had the flu shot once in my life, and shortly after, my symptoms of narcolepsy (an autoimmune disease), suddenly exploded, to the point that I was unable to function.

Another man I worked with, had a rabies vaccination, and then developed type I diabetes (another autoimmune disorder). This was in his 30's, although it is very rare for type I diabetes to develop that late.

It is in my opinion that vaccines can very easily stimulate autoimmune disorders. It is difficult to prove that vaccines are to blame, so what are we supposed to do? "

" I am sorry for anyone whose child was lost to this " horrid" vaccination issue. I vaccinated my then 8 week old with DTP and she had two seizures....spent two days in the hosptial and also said that we were to watch her development....at almost three she is still not talking and we are in the final stages of getting dx with autism spectrum under the sensory integration disorder. Think before you do! is my motto! "
