I am taking my daughter at the end of the week for her 1 yr shots and check up. Is there anything I need to know about this set of shots that differ from the previous ones? Anything to make it easier on her afterward? It still concerns me the amount that they give such small children, but my gut tells me it is still the right thing to do, just wondering if there is anything I need to know about this set of shots!

a day or two before the shots load her up on vitamin C. It helps your body accept and respond to the injected organisams. Also, demand one shot at a time. It may reduce the odds of a reaction and if there is a reaction it's easier to determine the cause. There has been little to no research done to determine the effects of combining shots.
Try reading "What your doctor may not tell you about children's vaccinations" it's extremely informative but totally unbiased. TONS of information including how to reduce the risks of reactions. I've read tons of books on the subject and this was the only really unbiased one I've found.

With any immunization, make sure the child is very healthy before you get the vaccination. It is a trauma to the body, and like skiddles said if you do one shot at a time, you can tell which ones give a bad reaction, and there is smaller chance for a bad reaction if you don't overload the child. It is your choice and your responsibility, so don't be bullied into doing it their way. I've seen to many reactions go unreported to believe the statistics about bad reactions.
