  • Emergency Exits...

    Wednesday, April 16, 2008

    April 16th
I took Brent’s Mother into the city.
We went to my favourite book shop; we were looking for something for Brent’s birthday.
“I just need to find a bathroom”, said Brent’s Mother, the minute we got into the shop. I pointed her in the general direction.
5 minutes later, an alarm went off and Store Security raced through the door previously used by Brent&...

    Sunday, April 27, 2008 | A Breaking News story

    April 27th
Somebody stole a half thawed fish out of the cupboard it had been defrosting in.
When Brent got home, Flossom, whom, it has to be said, has been the main suspect, was quick to race out and tell him all about the saga.
According to Flossom, who has been the only cat to come up with any explanation over the disappearance of the fish at all, the fish t...

  • It's in the Bag

    Thursday, May 8, 2008 | A Breaking News story

    7th May
I came rushing into the kitchen on my way to the gym to find the House God sitting in an abandoned shopping bag. “What on earth are you doing” I asked.
“Making a difference” Zeuss said, “Everyone counts”.

  • Shopping with your Husband

    Sunday, May 25, 2008 | A Breaking News story

    May 25th
    Brent took me shopping!
I’ve been waiting for an event like this ever since we got married.
“I’m going to buy something really special” he said, sounding suspiciously like his Mother.
He bought an electric power sander.
“You can use it too” he said chirpily.
“Think of more as a turbo charged ‘macrodermabrasion ...

  • When Tossers Escape

    Wednesday, May 28, 2008 | A Breaking News story

    May 28th
Nibbler and The Phantom staged a great escape just on dusk.
I looked up just in time to see the pair of them heading off joyously down the road, tails held aloft, on their way down to visit the mares. At least, Nibbler AKA ‘Hoof Hefner’ was on his way top look up the girls, The Phantom is just easily led.
Dear Persil was standing by the open gate wa...

  • My Mother Abroad

    Wednesday, June 4, 2008 | A Breaking News story

    June 4th
My mother comes back to New Zealand in a few days.
By the sound of it she’s terrorized every single art gallery, museum and cathedral curator in all of France and London.
She will have asked the hard questions they can’t…or won’t answer.
“Tell me,” She’ll have said to the Archbishop of Canterbury, pinning him up a...

    Saturday, June 7, 2008 | A Breaking News story

    June 7th
    We had snow!
    It was a real dumping.
Zeuss woke up, stretched and wandered outside for his morning ablutions and came flying back in the bedroom window almost immediately, his eyes wide open.
“What’s this?” he blared, “Who put that there?”
It was beautiful. It came fluttering down, silently covering everything in a b...
