Can anyone share their experience with me, post-op. the Doctor says I will go home that day, that sounds CRAZY to me. I actually told him i want to stay the night, I have heard some terrible things.... help.. I go next week.

Yeah, I was glad to stay overnight. Was fine with coming home next day. I had lap/vag hysterectomy.
I think overnight is the right thing to do and I had no trouble...still glad they were watching me first night after anesthesia and keeping pain under control along with anti-nausea meds. Loved the cath too...didn't even have to get up to tinkle until next day! Cruel to send you home right after. Bad for caretaker too. You will be a mess for 24 hrs. Fine after that though. Stand your ground.

Hey good luck with ya Op, I went home after a one night stay in the hosp as well.,. I had a Vag/Hyst with one ovary taken as well... I felt really rough going home the next day and felt I needed another nights stay myself...
We had a three and a half hour drive home as well which was a little rough.... You can do it gal...! Sharon xx

I stayed 2 nights with a TVH (kept ovaries, no cervix) - Going home the same day is crazy. This is major surgery. Tell him you want to stay overnight and they can call your insurance company for approval.
