" This is all so familiar. I can help with one thing...remember...there is no uterus in porn.

Don't let them take your "exteriors" and he won't give a hoot. I am serious! Do you think men have fantasies that include the uterus? NEVER It's our thing, not theirs.

Why says you will need fake lubricant? That is not a given and even if you do some day, that can be very discreet. Also, a little estrogen replacement can cure the need. Last thing...I was scared beyond belief...anesthesia is God's gift! I don't remember a thing so no trauma. "

" The way things felt was different- but sometimes it seemed even more intense and better in some ways. I'm 40- just been on estrogen, premarin (insert to keep vagina moist) and evamyst a spray that is absorbed into skin. I haven't had hot flashes, and my libido has changed now only because of other physical issues and meds- I do have to use lube more than but it's not a big deal. "

" Jaime,

I don't know about the sex part as I JUST had my surgery last week Wednesday. Hot flashes kicked in by Sunday along a distinct memory loss. I am often praised for my exceptional memory. I do not feel less of a woman. Try not to even fear that. Our uterus is NOT what defines us as a woman. Hugs to you as I clearly remember all my pre-op fears from last week:-) "

" Glad the surgery is behind you. You sound well read, good for you!

Sounds like you are dealing with surgical menopause. Your doctor can help with HRT, just ask.

Remember to take it easy! "

" I'm 43. Had moderate endo. 1 ovary twice the size/other was 5X the normal size. One tube connected to my colon & intestine because of the endo(acted like cement). I had a radical hysterectomy (all) my choice. My back has felt so much better since the surgery & no cramps anymore. I cramped since I started @ age 16(late bloomer). I take 0.625MG PREMARIN(VERY SMALL DOSAGE). I sometimes wake up sweating by morning is the only thing I noticed on the hot flashes. Sex is a little different for me (I had a little pain before the surgery with intercourse) but some positions are more painful to me now than before the surgery. You have to figure out what works better for you as you go on that one. KY will help alot & entry needs to go a little slower to start off at first. The dr. mentioned there is a cream you can get prescribed(Estrogen cream) if you feel to dry down there also & are uncomfortable during sex. I didn't need that! My hubby said he doesn't really feel a difference on his end. Surgeries info. take a back scratcher to the hospital/ask Dr. to allow Benadryl ahead of time if needed(Morfin made me itch very badly). I used the scracher alot till the Benadryl was allowed to be given to me after the dr. approved it. Had to scratch for hours. Take a small pillow to hold your stomach when you walk--I didn't hurt & I have a low pain allowance, but it might help you. I wore sundress pull-overs to walk the halls. You will walk the next day. You will have to walk alot per the nurse & it helps you get well faster. Go to Wal-Greens or Harbor Freight & gets a gripper. It helps you around the house to pick things up that are light. Don't be bending over it hurts. You can get a hernia if you pick up to soon & to heavy. My sister in law did that & had to have another surgery w/in the year for that. I didn't pick up for 6 wk & then 1 more month because I do filing at work.

" I cried a little before the surgery ( I tried for 6 yrs to have a kiddo) before I pushed Scott & White to go in with a camera & see what was really going on. I cramped but had regular pds since 16. Pelvic exams tell you nothing is a fact. I waited till my mid 30's to go for children. I'm fine with it, but a little blue before the surgery & afraid too.
Good luck with your recovery.... "

" We took it really slow the first couple of times and I was sore in the tummy area (my scar) for a while. Then that went away and everything was pretty much normal again. I am on an estrogen patch and my sex drive is actually higher and more intense since the surgery. I don't know why...but I am not complaining! (Just wish I had more time with my hubby) "
