Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone else has had a burning face and I am wondering if it might be symptoms of menopause.?
I had my hysterectomy 11 weeks ago now and had everything but one ovary taken and I hope that my remanding one isn't shutting down too.....?
The last couple days I have had a faint warming of my skin on my face , but woke up this morning with it on fire..! Its been a couple hours now and my face is still red to look at, but only my face is affected... It literally feels like I have dipped my face in boiling water or chemicals..! Its horrible!
Has anyone else experienced this or is it something unrelated you think.?

I suffered the horrible flushes it felt like my body was on fire starting from my thighs moving up my body to my head, It was horrible i couldnt sleep and had to have a cold flannel on my face through the night to help me sleep, i don t think my face went red but it did feel on fire. I would speak to ur dr? "

" I hate to say it, but I was so happy to see your post! I had a complete hysterectomy 9 years ago and since then I've suffered on and off with a burning face too! So embarrassing to go into an interview or be talking with someone and my face starts burning - then I get a look in the mirror and I'm beet red from the roots of my hair clear down my chest. I've been to 2 different dermatologists, had allergy and contact allergy testing, been put on different elimination diets and finally ordered not to eat anything containing spices, 'flavourings', or artificial colorings. That leaves me what? Meat, vegetables and fruit and everything has to be homemade. Result? I still suffer from the burning face. In fact, my neck has a permanent 'collar' now that's always a shade or two darker than the rest of me. I think it's caused by the HRT, maybe I'm allergic to it. I've sure come up with a ton of allergies since the operation that I never had before! "

" hi shazzca..i had a TVH on 9/24/09 and for the lst week my face has been on fire..I have my ovaries. Even my lips tingle...The Doc does not think it is low estrogen (which can cause this) but I had my level checked anyways..I should know soon. I hope that is the answer as my recovery has been horrid from this surgery. I have leg/hip nerve pain from surgery positioning (they think) and it falred my fibro (I have RA) did not know I really had fibro...as my arms are burning too..unless that is low estrogen. I am hoping my results come back with low estrogen so at least I will know the answer!

now my face and arms do NOT get red, but boy do they burn and tingle..like a bad sunburn

hugs and prayers to you! "
