Hi, I still have my ovaries. My OBG wanted me on the mini-pill after my hysterectomy. Is there a reason for that, besides stopping the endo from coming back? I read somewhere that ovarian cysts develop when you ovulate, and eventually disappear after you menstruate? Since I no longer get periods, what happens to the cyst?
I've been feeling sharp pains on my right side so I'm trying to figure this out.. Posted on 06/21/09, 09:06 pm |

Hi! I hope your feeling well. I think when you leave your ovaries you still have the same or close to the amount of hormones you had before you hyst. So if you were having some type of hormonal imbalance before you may still have that just not the problems with the endo. But the hormonal may be evened out on the pill. Talk to your OBG about it and remember WE are the reasons they have a job. So make them work for their money. jk

Thanks Annie. Someone else had make a comment stating same, that they work for us! I have all sorts of other health issues, primarily with my heart, which is the reason I won't take the pill.. just yet. Those sharp pains on my right side I found out was due to a right cyst which had been removed during my hysterectomy. So the scarring during ovulation was causing the alarming pain. Yeah, and I still have my endo. Thank you again for your feedback, and you take care :)
