I am 34 and had a radical hysterectomy June 6th because of uterine cancer. The worst part other than the actual diagnosis is the feeling that I am hot all the time I sweat and feel like I need two showers a day.I do feel a little moody but I dont know if thats due to the pain. I cannot take hormones because of the cancer. And yesterday my 10 year old asked for a little brother ! lol I am an emotional wreck, anyone else have symtoms?

I am sorry to hear you had to go through so much and with uterine cancer. Are you having to go through chemo therapy? My Grandmother had it years ago. I was very young and really didnt understand. It was to late for her and she passed. I had a total abdominal hyst. with overys removed this year as well. I have endo and I had adenomyosis. I wasnt put on estrogen for 2 weekss after my hyst. and I thought I was going crazy! I was put on premarin which I now know I shouldnt have with endo. I am still taking it. I get hot flashes real easy still but not as bad as before. Are you able to take anything natural? I know in the middle of the night was the worst for me. I had to change pj's cause it felt like I took a shower in bed. yuk! and changing sheets all the time. I hope you can find something that will help you and your Drs will allow you to have. You have many years before this stops and thats around the age of 50 so you have 16 yrs. I still feel like I want to cry over stupid stuff all the time. Unfortunatly kids do not understand what mom goes through. I have a 17 yr daughter and 14yr son and my kids really dont know the pain I have gone through. My periods were every 2 weeks for 2 years till I couldnt handle the pain any more. I shouldnt have waited since my family history but I did and here I am. Good luck and I hope your feeling better. Take things slow and easy. You dont want to over do it and youor body will let you know when. Take care...xxxx Staci

Hi Christina-I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 34 because of endometriosis. I was on hormone therapy for a very short period of time, and it was causing me chest pain-since I have heart problems and I had a blood clot in my leg previously, they made me stop taking the hormone replacement. Periodically I beg the doctors to let me try it again, because for the short time I was on hormone replacement therapy I didn't have hot flashes, night sweats, etc. , but to no avail-they say I will never be able to take hormone replacement meds again-in fact-the last time I asked my heart doctor, she said "There is no way in hell" so I guess I can forget that. Before my hysterectomy-I rarely if ever broke a sweat, even while exercising-now, if I blink I sweat. I have horrible hot flashes all day and night sweats all night-I absolutely hate it. The moodiness affects me sometimes, not alot. To make matters worse, I live in Texas and it is so unbelievably hot here it is not funny. I guess I shouldn't complain so much, frankly, all of this is better than the awful pain and symptoms I had with endometriosis. One thing I have found that helps me with the hot flashes is popsicles-if I eat a popsicle, it will usually cool me down and stop the current hot flash, at least for a little while-I also sleep with an ice pack nearby, so when the night sweats wake me up, I put that on my neck or wrists for a quick cool-down. I wish I could be of more help-I hope you feel better soon, Hugs, Sarasmile
