Hi, Im a new member here having had a totally unexpected radical hysterectomy on 29th May 09, caused by multiple large ovarian cysts and endo. This is complicated by a DVT which was also discovered on my ultrasound and for which I am now taking warfarin.

I have to say that the posts here have me a little scared, they do appear to be all about problems after the surgery.

2.3 weeks after surgery (Laparotomy...complete abdominal opening, 47 staples), I am feeling good. I have a bit of pain if I move too quickly or stand for more than a minute or 2. I am doing my best to take things very easily and I am bored stupid being stuck in the house. I am no longer taking any pain meds. My insides feel a bit strange when I move about in bed or something but I try to find a comfy position and stay there!!

I really, really hope I get none of the complications or additional pain that most of you seem to suffer with.

I also hope the results of my biopsy on Monday week, dont show anything else nasty. That really would be devastating.

Cheers

Abfab

" Unfortunately, my biopsy results are back...I have ovarian cancer. I am going to see the consultant on Friday and I will know more then. They (as in clinical nurse specialist) has said it isnt a total disaster, ie stage 1 or 2 but they cant confirm until more results come back.

Fingers crossed for Friday.

As for the hysterectomy, I really havent been having TOO bad a time, hopefully I can remain strong.

One thing I have noticed is the left sided pain I see ppl talk about.....strange!!!!

xx "
