I saw my doc today for my post op exam and i completely forgot to ask him about when i can have sex again. for those who had LAVH when were u able to have sex, not that im thinking bout doing it just one week and one day post op but...

" Your Dr should have told you. No matter what kind of hysterectomy you have you have to wait till your 6 week post op check. Your Dr will do an exam to feel the cervix this will tell if your healing nicely. if its a little hard your still healing. Its not to comfortable the first time around. My cervix was still tender but I was told I was still healing after 9 weeks. I hope this helps you..xx..Staci "

" Yeah I was told 6 weeks as well and will have my post Op appt when I'm at around 5 .5 weeks but since I've lost My cervix I'm terrified at being intimate again!! I'm thinking that things will never feel the same again as before and feel very sad about loosing my cervix.... Ekk! "

" Hey amber.... I was told when I left the hospital that I could shower immediately ( and did the same day as my operation) and could take a bath in 1 week... So mabey others can say on here.... Perhaps it depends on if you have a cervix or not left... ?? "

" Well I know they told me 1 week till I took a bath so I don't see why not especially if you have s cervix left in? Why not call the hospital where you had the operation and ask a nurse? Just to be safe? XX "
