Need to know I made the right choice!

My robotic hysterectomy is in 12 days and I'm starting to worry. I keep reading posts about the pain. Now I know I'm not going to feel all that great for the first few days but when I read posts about still having pain weeks after the operation I start to regret the choice that I made to have the surgery. Does anyone have anything good to say about the Davinchi hysterectomy? I know that it beats constant bleeding and cramps but will I be ok? I just need to hear something positive, please!!!!!!

" Hi Heather. It's totaly normal to be afraid. I went through the same thing you are going through right now. With any surgery you wil expect to have some pain. It will go away and you wont regret it. I had my periods every 2 weeks for 2 years, bed riden the last 3 months leading up to my hysterectomy due to extreme pain. I dont regret my hysterectomy at all. I had sooo many thoughts runing through my head but that was just it and it was enough to scare me all te way up to the day. You are the only one to make the final choice to go through with robotic hysterectomy. I wrote out all the pros and cons to make sure I was doing the right thing. In the end the hysterectomy won. I dont have as much pain as I use to and I am not bed riden any more. You will do fine. You have been dealing with a lot lately and choices are very hard to make when it comes to your body and this will affect your life forever. No more cramps..no more constant bleeding. I know what that means and I'm glad I dont have it any more!
Good Luck and my prayers are with you. You will do fine. I have been reading your posts and you are a fighter. You will get through this. xxxxx Staci

" Hi Heather. I was just as nervous as you. I am 37 and had my hysterectomy last August. I had severe endometriosis for many years and after I couldn't stand the pain or the bleeding anymore I decided to move forward with the surgery. I was in some pain with the surgery, but I would do it again if I had to so not to have to worry about my periods anymore. You will do just fine, don't worry.....Be blessed in the Lord! "
