Exercise tips following surgery that won't harm

Three weeks ago I had pelvic prolapse surgery (hysterectomy, bladder repositioning and rectocele repair. I'm basically wiped out and trying to heal. I feel good walking around, but feel like I'm getting NO exercise--basically turning into mush... Can't soak in the tub for another week, which I look forward to. I'm starting use of Premarin to aid in the healing. It has side effects that bother me (night sweats, head aches).
I don't want to gain weight through all this---so far have lost 5 lbs (5'4" and 134lbs). Is there any exercise that won't do me harm??? My butt and thighs need to drop another 5-10 lbs.

" I wouldn't worry about trying to lose weight through out your healing. I didn't gain anything while healing. Your body needs all the energy it can get to heal itself. I started working out again around 6 weeks. "

" I would just walk and not worry about weight loss right now. I got too active after my surgery and had to have more surgery at 5 weeks. Walking is all I would do right now until the doctor says you can do more. Wishing you great healing......Beth "

" Thanks to both of you for slowing me down--I know I'm rushing it. Just anxious to get back to "normal". What about stool softeners? Don't want to get dependant on them? I won't see my doctor until 8 weeks post op (5 more weeks). How will I know if something isn't healing right?? So appreciate this forum. "

" I weaned off the stool softeners around 3-4 weeks. I wouldn't take one every day. I started spacing the days out. "
