Advice:
Am I doing too much?

Well today is my 8th post operative day after my laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy... I had 2 days of intense depression especially due to the fact that I am Gravida 0. (never having been pregnant) Otherwise all went marvellously. Was mobile from the very first day... Was discharged on the 5th. I lay down a hell of alot but when I am up? Then I am really up! I vacuum and clean and set the dinner table in the last 2 days... All rather slow but I do it... I will be leaving to go on holiday (direction home) from Berlin -South Africa next Tue. Ofcourse I am tired and still exhausted from the anaesthetic. Hardly need anything for pain momentarily... Very slight bleeding... like spotting... Do you ladies think that I am doing too much?? I just cannot lay in bed 24/7!

" I can't tell you for sure medically if you are or not, but you sound like me, I was doing the same things, quickly after surgery. Just be careful, and take breaks. Make sure you are not straining too much. Just be careful, but do as you can, just don't over do it. Listen to your body. I'm glad to hear that you are doing great! Keep us posted. Take care. "

" I didn't vacuum for 6 weeks. NO PUSHING or PULLING anything. It was hard for me too since I had mine in the spring and I had so many weeds in my flower beds! I had to have someone vacuum for me.

If it feels like you are doing too much, then you probably are. "

" Oh what you are doing was a NO NO for me for 6 weeks. I think you may be doing too much! It will take a longer recovery. I laid down lots too due to stomach pressure. My doctor said 3-6 months before all is kinda normal.... "
