Advice:
Does the pain EVER stop?

Even as I reached my one year mark last week, I have dealt w/pain daily. I've been going to a Pain Specialist during the later months of my recovery (6mos or more) & gotten pain shots, nerve blocker shots, & a pain management medication that I take daily. All I'm told is "get exercise & lose weight" & the pain will stop. How can I try when I've tried & I *STILL* hurt? I *KNOW* I need to, but I flatly FEAR PAIN!

I'm so frustrated & confused.

Help?

" I have reached my 3 month marker and I have some light pains here and there. I mowed grass yesterday and had some sort of cramping. I could tell it was just sore in there. I would nt know why you have such bad pain right now. I think your dr should be looking into it instead of just saying lose weight. I think that is their excuse for anything when they don;t know what it is. maybe you should get a second opinion very soon! "

" Hi I've reached my 4 month mark. I started with a trainer in the gym in the water. The water workout puts less pressure on the muscles while still getting results. The pain improved for me within 2wks....now I run on the beach every day. Since my surgery I have lost 42lbs and counting. I am very tall so I was never extremely overweight....however I will attribute the additional exercise to my decresed pain. Hange in there it will get better... "
