Signs and symptoms of adrenal fatigue

Stressors like a demanding job, raising a family, relationship issues, lack of sleep, financial pressures, improper nutrition, dieting, and unresolved emotional distress cause the adrenal glands to produce cortisol. However, when we ask our adrenal glands to chronically sustain high cortisol levels, they eventually become fatigued. The resulting adrenal dysfunction not only affects cortisol production, but also impairs the adrenals’ ability to produce and balance hormones like DHEA, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.
he following symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that it is not receiving the support it needs to maintain healthy adrenal function.

* Fatigue
* Feeling tired despite sufficient hours of sleep
* Insomnia
* Weight gain
* Depression
* Hair loss
* Acne
* Reliance on stimulants like caffeine
* Cravings for carbohydrates or sugars
* Cravings for salt
* Poor immune function
* Intolerance to cold
Related conditions

Adrenal fatigue is a likely factor in several medical conditions such as the following:

* Hypotension
* Fibromyalgia
* Hypothyroidism
* Chronic fatigue syndrome
* Arthritis
* Premature menopause
I started taking DHEA supplement and it has made a world of difference. I have energy, my Fibromyalgia has stopped hurting, my arthritis is better, carb cravings have stopped, insomnia is better sleeping all through most nights, I'm not as intolerant of cold, I get sick less often, I'm hoping weight loss will be next. I've only been taking it for 2 months.
As we get older (no definite age limit as some suffer at very young ages) our Adrenals, located above the kidneys, slow down their functioning & sometimes stop altogether. So there is very little or no natural production of DHEA happening. So adding it to your daily regiment will perk you right up & make you feel young again.
I have had a hormonal panel done by a physician. My endocrinologist is aware that I'm taking it. I suggest you do have the hormonal panel done and read all the information about this on the website that gave. You need to make an education decision as to whether you want to take DHEA or not. That's what I did.
