I have been extremely tired since going through surgery in March. I feel like I did before I started taking thyroid. My doctor doesn't go by tests alone. He goes by my symptoms as well. He increased my cortisol and my primary care doc has me taking 500 mcg B12 every day now. I just started the B12 so I'll see how that works. I'm just stinkin' tired. Cat

I just cannot believe how difficult it is to regulate the thyroid. I really hate feeling like this. I use to be a very active person. I am still more active than many but I am completely drained when I exert myself too much. I think I've had the t3 and t4 levels checked but I"m not totally sure.

I tell people whether they're hypO or hypER, to aim their Free T3 and Free T4 at mid ranges to see how they feel it there. Most people feel their best at mid ranges and towards the upper ranges. Then there's the small percentage who feels better below the mid ranges. We are all different from one another where we feel our best at.
Take care... :-)

I know exactly what you mean. I went through this for a period of time when I was first diagnosed. Get your TSH level checked and find a good endochronologist. I also went the natural medicine route and went on an internal cleansing and acupuncture routine. Come to find out, not only did I have hypothyroidism, but had toxic metals in my body that had built up. You can live with this disorder, but you need a strong support group of specialists, nutritionist, and naturopath. I put on about 50 lbs in six months and although the tiredness is now a thing of the past I am struggling to lose the weight and get a thyroid tumor under control. Don't lose faith!

Oh I sympothize with you totally. Have you asked your doc for the prescription dose of Vitamin D? This has helped me some with my hashimoto's. I also eat wild salmon one a week(Wow! what an energy booster). I hope you feel better soon. This disease can make you so depressed. But ask your doc about the D.
Hugs

I am feeling like that also. I was diagnosed in 2005 and my super high energy has never returned. I only have energy for things I (need) to do, errands, school, practicing for Court reporting. I miss my energy. TSH & blood work comes back normal, but still no energy. The Doctor recommends a multivitamin, which I feel slightly better, and exercise. I walk 3 miles a day to lose the weight gained and to hopefully be energized. I agree that this is a "Shitey Disease". The doctor visits, lab visits, picking up the medication is all an inconvenience in my life. I feel like an old lady trapped in my body. Try a multivitamin, it might help you. I was also wondering if anyone feels like I do. Thank you.
