I was just prescribed this yesterday and as I have many allergies I am a little afraid to try it. I also am taking Synthroid 0.05mg which the doctor just increased to this amount. The Liothyronine is 5 mcg which I think is a low dose.
Maybe I shouldn't have looked up the side effects and read others reviews on the net Can anyone let me know if has caused any side effects for you or any can tell me that it has helped. I guess I am just too cautious about taking anything new. I have talked to my doctor about this but he said he doesn't think I will have a problem since I didn't have a problem with the Synthroid. Also he just said to take it once a day but didn't say if I have to take it on empty stomach as I have to take my Synthroid about 2 hours before I eat. I would welcome any help you can give me. Hi Kathy, It's a very low dose, as is your synthroid. I doubt very much it'll do you any harm. The only trouble is, at that low a dosage, will it do you any good? What's the brandname, is it Cytomel? You don't have to take on an empty stomach and, as the dose is so low, you're probably best to take around midday for maximum effect. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the help. It does help. I don't know the brand name. The pharmacy only put the name of the medication. I think my doctor is starting me out low to see how much he needs to increase them. He just increase the Synthroid from .,25mg. I will start taking it.
