Where is the anger coming from?

Hi -

I just joined this group. I am a 48 year old man - married for over 25 years with 3 daughters.I make a good living. I know I am lucky in many ways.

I just feel so feel so damned angry right now. My tolerance for everything is so low. I am dealing with a hormonal imbalance - my testosterone is low & my doctor won't treat it effectively because she is afraid of my PSA going up. I am dealing with a menopausal wife at the same time. Life becomes a series of screaming matches.

I have tried meditation. No real luck there, I can't breathe enough to get to that "place".

My wife tries to tell me she thinks I am depressed - because of the ads she sees on TV. I have dealt with clinical depression in the past (15 years or so ago). I don't feel depressed - at least not like I used to. Back then, if I was confronted with anything, I basically curled up in a ball. Now I fight back.

So - I am here. I don't know if anyone has any words of wisdom for a guy like me. Can mistreated low-T result in anger?

" I should say that my doc has me on Androgel right now, but at 1/2 the recommended starting dosage. She moved it to the full starting dosage and then my PSA went up, she freaked out, and put me back down to the lower dose. "

" Good luck. I'm 27 and had extremely low testosterone (think in the teens). I was really depressed but the androgel helped. I'm in law school right now, and I think the stress is fucking with my hormones. I'm having a really tough time balancing the dosage.

Tiny incremental changes can make me go from really angry on the high end to brain dead on the low end. Anyways, androgel really helped in the beginning so you might wan to check that out. "

" testosterone substitiution has helped balancing my mood swings. I'm 43 now and have been using various products for the past 7 years. I'm using intra msucular injections every 10 weeks now (nebido) that works better than anything previously tried. Mood is fairly ok, but still I get so incredibly pissed off just for the slightest detail - that is scares even myself. My wife and kids think do not like my anger at all - neither do I.
T also helped on my depression. "
