Today I have wanted EVERYTHING...Tim Horton's iced capp, 1/4 pounder w/cheese, chocolate malt, coca-cola, regular coffee, chocolate cake...

I didn't have ANY OF IT. But the cravings are the strongest they have been since I began the hypog. diet on August 5th.

Any suggestions???

" P.S.: I have been verrrrrrry tired mentally and physically today as well. Disconnected thoughts too. Can't seem to wake up, and no I haven't had sugar or white flour. "

" I deal with my cravings in a variety of ways. If it is one of those foods that is tasty but I can live without it (like French fries or gummy bears or soda), I remind myself of how awful it would make me feel after I ate it. Now if I'm craving something like chocolate cake that I know is bad for me but life wouldn't be worth living if I couldn't have some every now and again, I promise myself that I will have some next time I earn it (special occasions only, or definitely no more than once a week, and not if I need to be awake and active immediately after eating it).

If there is a plate full of that tempting item in front of me, I will have a very small portion which I eat slowly, nibbling and savoring it like crazy. And then (this is the important part!) I have to get away from the rest of the food! Wrap it up or put it away or pass it off to an understanding friend and tell them not to let me have any more.

You said you weren't eating anything bad for you, but maybe you still need to work on finding foods that are delicious and GOOD for you. You can still eat a cheeseburger, for instance, but you should probably cook it yourself at home and get a low-carb whole grain bun to put it on. Chocolate cake is probably not a great choice, but there are actually some pretty healthy chocolate bars out there in health food stores (especially if you limit yourself to only a couple of squares, or throw just a few chocolate chips into your nut-filled trail mix). I find my cravings are strongest when I'm hungry and I'm sick of all the healthy food I have available, because then the unhealthy stuff looks especially appealing. So find something delicious that works for your diet and make sure it is available during your cravings. "

" This is going to sound weird and I don't mean eat them together but you need oatmeal and spinach. Oatmeal with butter and cinnamon and milk. I was on the low blood sugar diet for 2 years strictly and moderatly for the past 4 so for a total of 6 years. I know ot well. Evrything you are feeling is mormal in you are in the first month or two of it. If not let me know how long you have been on it. Spinach is a must as well even everyday for some. There is rarely a substitute that works as well. Also avacado with garlic. All of these are craving reducers and excellent stabilizers! they must be eaten everyday and you cna incoporate them in a number of ways. for more ideas on how just email me or reply to this post. I have been there believe me! "

Don’t forget your cheese and of course treat yourself to a homemade burger. Make deserts at home where you can control the sugar or use a substitute sweetener like fruit juice or Splenda or even brown sugar! "
