" well do what you did to begin your diet. i know when i started my diet, my mom went through the entire house (and it was right around valentines day ]: ) and threw away anything and everything that i could not eat. then we went to the store and bought only healthy foods that i actually could eat. " Spacy, sugar is poison to your body. Would he want you to eat just a little rat poison??? Would he consider keeping and enjoying his snacks elsewhere than around you? It's like quitting smoking, with someone blowing smoke in your face all the time. IT'S HARD, AND IT HURTS !! You need all the help and understanding you can get.

Would you consider learning how to make sugar free cookies, etc., so that you have something to enjoy? If you have access to a public library, I feel sure they would have diabetic cookbooks that would have recipes to help you get rid of the sugar.

I notice you have two children. I hope you are eleminating most of the sugar from THEIR diet while they are young. Once they get addicted to sugar it's hard to stop, as you know.

I remember when my grandchildren were small, my daughter would give them sugar free cereal without adding any sugar. I though she was being cruel to them. Now I know she was being wise. They didn't know the difference, and ate it right down. Unfortunately, they found out later and picked up the sugar habit on their own.

It really bothers me now, to see adults giving babies and small children sodas to drink. If they only knew what they are starting, and doing to those little bodies. But you see, I'm looking at life from 77 yrs, and can see a much larger picture than the young parents, who still feel invincible! I can tell them, those bad habits come back to BITE YOU IN LATER LIFE, in the form of bad health !!! Almost all of the top health problems of today are the results of poor diet and bad habits !!

I didn't intend to write a book, but have just about done it, huh?

I do wish you better health, my friend!! "

" We have a 2nd refrigerator in the garage with a lock on it. In the refrigerator you will find anything with sugar, chips, etc., and there isn't much of it. Out of sight, out of mind. We don't buy any soda, and it took awhile, but my kids don't ask for it at all anymore. They only drink water or milk. HSYAR is correct, all that stuff is poison. I have agave nectar and splenda in the garage fridge for times when I need to whip up a batch of "acceptable" treats. Kids had to learn that every meal does not come with a desert. Stock the indoor fridge with vegetables and healthier snacks. For cravings, you will just have to explore for awhile, but you will find substitutes. If you don't, try going for a walk until the cravings pass. "
