I would like to know if anyone has every been cured of hypoglycemia.
after a major surgery and an early return to work it seems as though i have developed full blown hypo. i have probably had it for years but very mild, docs told me i was having anxiety attacks and i was a binge eater. of course i believed them, and have spent years thinking all of my problems were mental.. things are looking up for me because of the info i have found on the internet (not in a doctors office). but anyway i have learned how to keep my blood pressure at safe levels, and now i would like to know if it is possible to do this with hypoglycemia. i understand i must have a healthy diet but wonder if i can return to what once seemed normal. Hardest part for me is finding a good diet to follow on the net, normalcy seems so far away.

A cure may be finding the right diet..balance etc but I don,t think with hypoglycemaia we would be able to go bck to old ways as the hypo could return...I guess for me I will probabaly just occasionally still have something I shouldn,t because I am human :)

Everyone i am so fed up with this issue. I'm doing the best i can. I am 28 and hypoglycemia has affected my entire life. I've drasticly changed my diet but could use some support. let's stick together. Hypoglycemia get's in the way of your dreams. it makes me very upset. anyway. I am venting now but i do want to create successes. I did have a good experience with bringing a rice proteing drink to work last friday. had more energy at hour 8 just my sipping this drink occassionally. No sugars added. sweetened with stevia and added adams peanut butter.

When I am evaluated at the Mayo clinic next week, I intend to ask the Endocrinologogist this very question. There is a theory that most hypoglycemics who are not pre-diabetic have some sort of inhereted genetic mutation. There are simple surgeries that can end the hypoglycemic episodes. I will let everyone know what I learn.

Went to the Mayo Clinic Thursday and they put a glucose monitor in me to monitor my glucose levels for the next week. Then, next Thursday, they will take it out and look at the readings and combine it with the food journal I am keeping, and the 4 finger sticks per day I am doing, and try to figure out why I feel so poorly. They also did an EKG, extensive blood labs, and a 24 hour urine test to check cortisol levels. All of this should give them the info they need to isolate what my body is doing with the food I eat, which is VERY HEALTHY FOOD. That is why I have been so frustrated; I am the "model student" as far as living with hypoglycemia, and am still tired and miserable for much of the day. I look forward to sharing results with all of you, and will post a separate post when results are in, in the hopes that many here can benefit from the information.
